I was digging through some of mixes I recorded from a few years ago and I came across this one. Played on 1xtra in 2004, Femme Fatal mixes up cuts from the UKG’S 2step era and manages to avoid the more commercial stuff and heads to the undaground!!! Enjoy
MOBO Awards

I was checking out the MOBO awards a few nights ago and got to thinking about what the awards represent musically.I guess by their name they’re meant to rep Music of Black Origin but checking the list of awards I couldn’t find any reference to House/Garage, Jungle/D&B or newer styles Broken Beat, Dubstep etc. and theses genres should be included under that umbrella.
I appreciate its difficult to cover every sub genre of music and that the biggest sellers Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae will always take precedence,.but I think it would definitely benefit music in general if the styles mentioned above got exposure to the amazing original music produced here in the UK.
C’mon MOBO next year we want at the very least a Dubstep Award!!!!!
